When Do Stars Form? Simulating Dynamic Star Formation Efficiencies in Giant Molecular Clouds
Observations of Giant Molecular Clouds (GMCs) yield large scatters in star formation efficiencies. Simulations in this work show that much of this scatter may stem from the fact we observe GMCs at different evolutionary stages driven by stellar feedback.

All Genders Are Statistically Significant: Expanding Gender Equity Studies in Astronomy
Many studies have been done within astronomy to investigate gender inequality between men and women. But, what can we do to better support the members of our community who don’t identify as part of the gender binary?
Elusive black holes: Have we found the ‘middle sibling’?
Today’s paper presents an intermediate mass black hole (IMBH) hiding within a dense star cluster. X-ray and optical observations over 15 years allow the authors to explore the different stages of this IMBH feasting on an unlucky star.
The Harvard Computers
Read about how the Harvard Computers shaped stellar astronomy and more in today’s guest post by Jillian Hyland.
Get those monkeys off your back!
Many of us are familiar with that feeling of panic after we’ve procrastinated too long on completing a task. In this post, we discuss some strategies to move past those mental blocks and get work done.
