Special ComSciCon Workshop for Communicating about COVID with Black Communities

Calling all US graduate students – apply for the ComSciConcepts-CCWBC workshop! The application is quick, with only two questions and all are welcome to apply!

Since it was created by ScienceBites authors in 2012, ComSciCon has held about 60 workshops on science communication operated by grad students, for grad students.

This special new workshop will build on ComSciCon’s existing infrastructure of training graduate student science communicators by further providing the latest information on COVID-19 in Black communities, resources on the systemic inequities that lead to this racial disparity in healthcare, and training on science communication and building trust with Black communities. We will also provide funding and further support to projects of attendees that are currently or wish to address these issues directly.

This special event, ComSciConcepts: Combatting COVID with Black Communities, will be held remotely on Wednesday June 2nd @ 12:00pm (EST). Please see the images on this post for more information about the program and participating experts.

We will be prioritizing BIPOC graduate students for this workshop but we encourage all to apply. Start your application today! The applications close soon, so finish your application ASAP. Late applications will be considered.
